Orthopaedic surgery simulation
Simulation for surgical planning
Mesh-Oriented Solutions provides finite element simulation and structural stress analysis for OrthoVis Ltd, supporting patient-specific orthopaedic surgical planning. Our work helps users understand how bone and fixation implants behave under load.
The OrthoVis platform enables surgeons to reconstruct fracture anatomy from CT scans and plan implant placement in 3D. MOS adds physics-based assessment to this visual workflow through the platform’s structural stress-test capability.
The analysis helps teams:
- Identify
stress concentrationsin bone and fixation constructs - Assess how
implant placementaffects mechanical behaviour - Compare fixation strategies under defined loading conditions
- Present simulation results alongside the visual surgical plan
For surgeons, this brings mechanical evidence into pre-operative planning. For implant manufacturers, it offers a way to assess implant behaviour within patient-specific anatomy and explore the effects of placement and loading.
